ADARE, Ireland, May 16 (UPI) -- Michael Lorenzo-Vera had a 2-under-par 70 Friday and fashioned a 1-stroke lead after two rounds of the Irish Open in Adare.

Lorenzo-Vera is at 6-under 138 for 36 holes, just ahead of Marcel Siem, who shot 71 Friday and is at 5-under for the tournament. First-round co-leader Richard Green and Pablo Larrazabal are tied for third at 3-under 141.

Scores were generally higher Friday than in the first round. Jeev Milkha Singh, who shared the first-round lead, had three bogeys and a double-bogey en route to a 76 Friday. He's at 2-under 142.

Lorenzo-Vera started the round with a lackluster 1-over through eight holes. He got back to even on the day with a birdie at No. 9 and played a solid second nine for the lead. He had seven pars but added birdies on the par 5s, including the finishing hole, where he had a 4 for the second consecutive round.
