NEW YORK, May 15 (UPI) -- Felipe Lopez' eighth inning sacrifice fly Thursday produced the lone run in Washington's 1-0 win over the New York Mets.
His 15th RBI ruined a sparkling effort by Mets' starter Mike Pelphrey, who carried a no-hitter into the top of the seventh.
Aaron Boone, who had two of Washington's hits, broke up Pelfrey's no-hit bid with a single to right to start the seventh.
In the eighth, Jesus Flores doubled, Willie Harris, a pinch-hitter, bunted his way on before Lopez' sacrifice fly.
Harris made a diving catch in left field to rob the Mets of a potential tying run in the ninth and Carlos Beltran was doubled off third base to end the game.
Winner Jason Bergmann (1-1) yielded three hits in seven scoreless innings with two walks and nine strikeouts. Luis Ayala gave up a hit in the eighth and Jon Rauch earned his ninth save.
Luis Castillo had two of the Mets' five hits.
