PITTSBURGH, May 12 (UPI) -- Tim Hudson yielded just one unearned run Monday when the Atlanta Braves beat Pittsburgh, 8-1, to split a doubleheader with the Pirates.

The Pirates won the first game, 5-0.

Hudson (6-2) gave up a first inning run but pitched seven innings of two-hit ball to win his third straight start.

Brian McCann hit a three-run home run and Mark Kotsay went 3-for-5 with three RBI for Atlanta.

John Van Benschoten (0-2) gave up seven runs on nine hits in four-plus innings for the Pirates, who had their first six-game winning streak in almost four years stopped. Doug Mientkiewicz had a double and scored Pittsburgh's only run.

In the first game, Freddy Sanchez doubled in three runs and Zach Duke pitched six scoreless innings for his second straight win.
