PITTSBURGH, May 12 (UPI) -- Zach Duke pitched six scoreless inning in helping the Pittsburgh Pirates collect a 5-0 win Monday over the Atlanta Braves in the first game of a doubleheader.

Freddy Sanchez backed Duke with a three-run double and Adam LaRoche hit a home run as the Pirates stretched their winning streak to six games. It is the longest Pittsburgh winning streak since a 10-game string in 2004.

Duke (2-2) allowed five hits and walked five while striking out three. Chipper Jones had three of the eight Atlanta hits but the Braves stranded 15 runners.

Atlanta starter Jair Jurrjens (4-3) suffered his first loss since April 15. He allowed three runs on three hits over five innings.

Pittsburgh loaded the bases in the fifth inning on a walk, a dropped fly ball and a one-out hit batter. Jurrjens struck out Duke but Sanchez doubled into the right-field corner, clearing the bases.

After leaving the bases loaded in the sixth, Pittsburgh padded its lead in the seventh when LaRoche hit a two-run home run. It was his seventh homer of the season.
