LOS ANGELES, May 11 (UPI) -- Juan Pablo Angel's first goal this season spelled the difference in Red Bull New York's 2-1 victory over Los Angeles Saturday.

The star forward, who had been battling injuries this season, got his goal less than a minute after Los Angeles had tied the game on an Alan Gordan goal. Rookie winger Danleigh Borman got his first goal at the 22nd minute for a 1-0 New York lead.

The win pushed the Red Bulls into third place in the Eastern conference. New York will try to improve on its 3-1-2 start to the season at home against Kansas City next Saturday. Los Angeles will be at home against Dallas May 18.
