SAN DIEGO, May 11 (UPI) -- Adrian Gonzalez belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning Saturday, propelling the San Diego Padres to a 3-2 win over the Colorado Rockies.
His ninth homer this season followed singles by Brian Giles and Tadahito Iguchi with no outs in the fourth.
The Padres had only five hits in all but broke a five-game losing streak.
Finding success in his fifth attempt this season to record his 350th career victory, winner Greg Maddux (3-3) gave up an unearned run and three hits in six scoreless innings. Closer Trevor Hoffman recorded his sixth save.
Colorado got one RBI each from Omar Quintanilla and Willy Taveras. Clint Barmes had two of the five hits for the Rockies, whose three-game winning streak ended.
Losing pitcher Ubaldo Jiminez (1-3) surrendered three earned runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings with three walks and 11 strikeouts.
