CHICAGO, May 10 (UPI) -- Kosuke Fukudome's two-run homer capped a six-run seventh inning Saturday and the Chicago Cubs belted Arizona 7-2.
Chicago trailed 2-1 before Daryle Ward's pinch single created a 2-2 tie. Later, Alfonso Soriano hit a go-ahead RBI double.
Ryan Theroit and Aramis Ramirez hit RBI singles before Fukodome's blast. Chicago' first run scored on Justin Upton's third-inning throwing error.
Soriano had four hits, while Ramirez and Theriot both had two hits for the Cubs, who have won the first two in the three-game weekend series.
The winner in relief of starter Ryan Dempster was Scott Eyre (1-0).
Dempster gave up two earned runs and just three hits in six innings with three walks and seven strikeouts.
Upton and Mark Reynolds had one RBI apiece for the Diamondbacks, who had only four hits and have split their last four games.
The losing pitcher was reliever Chad Qualls (0-4) after his third blown save chance this season.
