WASHINGTON, May 9 (UPI) -- Luis Gonzalez's three-run double in the sixth inning Friday spurred the Florida Marlins to a 7-3 victory at Washington.
Florida held a 3-1 lead with one out and the bases loaded when Gonzalez stroked his double off reliever Jesus Colome, giving Florida what proved to be an insurmountable 6-1 advantage.
Jorge Cantu hit a two-run single in the fourth. Hanley Ramirez and Matt Treanor had one RBI each and Cantu had two hits for the Marlins, who have won a season-high five games in a row.
Winner Ricky Nolasco (2-3) yielded an earned run and just four hits in six innings with two walks and six strikeouts.
Cristian Guzman, Nick Johnson and Wily Mo Pena each drove in a run for Washington. Guzman, Johnson and Lastings Milledge each had two hits for the Nationals, who have dropped three of four.
Losing pitcher Tim Redding (4-3) gave up six runs -- five earned -- and four hits in 5 1/3 innings with four walks and three strikeouts.
