Tommie Harris' wife dies

OAKLAND, Calif., May 7 (UPI) -- Recently acquired slugger Frank Thomas had two hits and scored twice Tuesday in Oakland's 4-2 win over Baltimore.
Justin Duchscherer improved to 3-1, scattering four hits and two walks for two runs over seven innings. He managed four strikeouts.
Santiago Casilla mopped up in the ninth for his first save this season, extending his scoreless streak to 17 1/3 innings.
Emil Brown also collected an RBI as the Athletics won their third straight.
Brian Burres (3-3) was the loser, giving up four runs and eight hits over 5 1/3 innings. The Orioles, losers of four straight, got their runs on RBIs by Aubrey Huff and Luke Scott.
