CINCINNATI, May 6 (UPI) -- A judge in Ohio has ruled former Cincinnati Bengals football player Chris Henry will be allowed to travel for tryouts despite being under house arrest.
Hamilton County Municipal Judge Rich Bernat gave permission for Henry to be released from electronic monitoring and house arrest to try out for a National Football League team that was not named in court, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Tuesday.
"We're willing to give him some latitude given the fact that he obviously needs to find some employment," said Bernat, who previously denied requests from Henry's attorney, Perry Ancona, to have the player released.
The judge said Henry, who has been on electronic monitoring and house arrest since his arrest on assault and criminal damaging charges March 31, must present a letter from the team inviting him to try out before he will be allowed to travel.
