OAKLAND, Calif., May 4 (UPI) -- Oakland's Jack Cust slammed a two-run homer in the seventh inning Sunday, helping the Athletics down the Texas Rangers 3-1.

A single by Ryan Sweeney scored Bobby Crosby, who had doubled, for the other A's run, also in the seventh.

Santiago Casilla (1-0), who has pitched 16 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings, tossed a perfect seventh for the win and Huston Street earned his ninth save of the season.

German Duran homered in the third inning for the Rangers.

Scott Feldman (0-1) was the loser, yielding three runs and six hits in 6 1/3 innings.
