MLB: Minnesota 7, Detroit 6

MINNEAPOLIS, May 4 (UPI) -- Joe Mauer and Nick Punto each drove in two runs for the Minnesota Twins, who edged Detroit 7-6 Sunday for their fifth win in a row.

The Twins swept the three-game series with the Tigers.

Mauer and Punto each socked a two-run double and Mauer also scored a run.

Matt Guerrier (2-1) got the win in relief for Minnesota, allowing one hit in two innings. Joe Nathan pitched the ninth for his 11th save of the season.

Curtis Granderson hit a solo home run for the Tigers.

Zach Miner (1-2) was the loser in relief, yielding two runs after the Twins got five off starter Kenny Rogers.
