FOXBOROUGH, Mass., May 3 (UPI) -- John Thorrington had a goal and an assist Saturday to lead the Chicago Fire to a 3-0 MLS victory over the New England Revolution.

Thorrington, who scored twice in last week's 2-1 win over the Colorado Rapids, assisted on Chris Rolfe's goal in the 29th minute and scored in the 50th.

Chicago's Stephen King scored his first career MLS goal in the 76th minute.

Fire goalie Jon Busch made six saves in his third shutout of the season.

Chicago (4-1-1) won for the fourth time in its last five matches. The Fire are two points behind the Columbus Crew, who edged the Kansas City Wizards 2-1, in the Eastern Conference.

New England (3-3-1) had a two-game unbeaten streak end.
