PHOENIX, May 3 (UPI) -- Ryan Church and David Wright hit home runs Friday and the New York Mets handed Micah Owings his first loss of the year in downing Arizona 7-2.

The Mets touched Owings (4-1) for three runs in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Church and RBI singles by Moises Alou and Carlos Delgado.

Owings, who contributed a pinch-hit homer in Arizona's win over Houston Wednesday, gave up seven runs on 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Church hit a solo homer in the fifth to give the Mets a 5-2 lead and Wright added a two-run shot in the sixth.

New York pounded out 12 hits in support of John Maine (3-2), who got the win by limiting the Diamondbacks to two runs on six hits in six innings.
