WASHINGTON, May 2 (UPI) -- Jose Bautista hit two homers and drove in four runs Friday as part of the Pittsburgh Pirates' 11-4 whipping of Washington.
Ryan Doumit had three hits and two RBI in a 12-hit attack that brought the Pirates their second win in three games.
The win went to Damaso Marte (2-0), who threw two perfect innings in relief of Phil Dumatrait. The starter gave up four runs in four innings.
Washington's John Lannan (2-3) had thrown 21 consecutive scoreless innings before Pittsburgh produced six runs in the third. Lannan gave up all six on six hits with two walks.
The Nationals had a four-game winning streak snapped.
Pittsburgh had already scored three times in the sixth when Bautista uncorked a three-run homer. He added a solo shot in the fifth to give the Pirates an 8-4 lead.
