CLEVELAND, May 2 (UPI) -- Friday night's Indians-Royals major league contest was postponed because of heavy rains at Cleveland's Progressive Field.

No make-up date was announced. Friday's scheduled starters, Cleveland's C.C. Sabathia and the Royals' Luke Hochevar, will start Saturday when the weekend series begins.

The Indians are second in the Central Division, 1 ½ games behind the Chicago White Sox.

The Royals are the division's last place team, having lost seven of their last 10 contests.
