The Rockets still trail Utah 3-2 going into Game 6 Friday in Utah.
The Rockets also got 18 points and a dozen rebounds from Luis Scola. Rafer Alston added 14 points and six assists.
Carlos Boozer led Utah with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Mehmet Okur contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Dron Williams managed 13 points.
The Jazz were hurt by a continuing lack of three-point success. They hit just two of nine Tuesday after missing all 14 tries in Game 4.
The Jazz were once again anemic from three-point range, going 2-for-9. In Game 4 they missed all 14 attempts from beyond the arc.
Houston led just 18-16 after the first quarter but a nine-point run at the start of the second quarter opened the game up and the Rockets roared away, widening their lead in each period.
