MLB: N.Y. Mets 5, Pittsburgh 4 (11 inn.)

NEW YORK, April 30 (UPI) -- David Wright singled home the winning run in the 11th inning Tuesday to give the New York Mets a 5-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Johan Santana gave up two solo home runs and walked three while striking out seven in 5 2/3 innings for the Mets. Billy Wagner allowed an unearned run in the ninth to blow his first save of the season. Jorge Sosa (3-1) pitched a scoreless inning to earn the win.

Wright finished with two RBI, while Ryan Church hit a two-run homer, Jose Reyes was 3-for-3 with three walks, a run scored and an RBI, and Endy Chavez had three hits and two runs.

Ian Snell allowed four runs on five hits and five walks in 4 1/3 innings for the Pirates, who have lost four of their last five games. John Van Benschoten (0-1) gave up a run on two hits in one-third of an inning to take the loss.

Nate McLouth and Jason Bay each hit solo home runs, while Freddy Sanchez singled home the tying run in the ninth to force extra innings.
