PHOENIX, April 30 (UPI) -- Micah Owings' pinch-hit, two-run homer Wednesday keyed Arizona's come-from-behind 8-7 victory over the Houston Astros.
The blast, part of Arizona's three-run bottom of the sixth inning, tied the contest 7-7 and was the first pinch homer by a pitcher in nearly four years.
Later, Eric Byrnes' RBI-single drove in the winning run.
Five other Arizona players had one RBI, including Conor Jackson, who hit a solo homer in the third.
Chris Young had three hits and Miguel Montero two for the Diamondbacks, who faced a 6-2 deficit after 1 1/2 innings.
Houston's lead was helped by Carlos Lee's three-run, second-inning homer off starter Randy Johnson.
Lance Berkman had two RBI while Hunter Pence and Miguel Tejada both had two hits for the Astros, who have dropped four of five.
The winner was Brandon Medders (1-0) and Brandon Lyon earned his ninth save.
The losing pitcher was Dave Borkowski (0-2).
