NBA: Detroit 98, Philadelphia 81

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 29 (UPI) -- Chauncey Billups had 21 points and 12 assists Tuesday, boosting Detroit to a 98-81 win over Philadelphia and a 3-2 edge in their first-round playoff series.

Game 6 is Thursday in Philadelphia.

Richard Hamilton added 20 points, Rasheed Wallace 19 and Tayshaun Prince 17 for the Pistons. Jason Maxiell had 11 rebounds.

Andre Iguodala scored 21 points for the 76ers, but only six in the second half. Lou Williams added 16 points.

Philadelphia committed 18 turnovers.

Detroit showed why it won 59 games in the regular season, hitting 15-of-19 from the floor in the first quarter and leading by double digits the rest of the way.
