
PHOENIX, April 29 (UPI) -- Mark Reynolds drove in two runs and scored once in a three-run third Monday night to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 5-2 win over Houston.
Starter Dan Haren staked the D-Backs to a 1-0 lead with an RBI double in the second. After stroking a two-run double in the third, Reynolds scored on a single by Chris Snyder.
Conor Jackson's RBI singled in the fifth capped the scoring for Arizona, which won for the third time in its last four games.
Haren (4-1) went 7 2/3 innings, giving up three runs on five hits with five strikeouts and one walk.
Brandon Lyon pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to get his eighth save.
The Astros got two in the fifth when Hunter Pence drove in a run on a groundout and Mark Loretta came up with an RBI single. Miguel Tejada's RBI double in the ninth made it 5-3 but Arizona reliever Chad Qualls closed the door.
Chris Sampson (1-3) gave up five runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings, with two walks and no strikeouts for Houston, which has lost three straight following a six-game winning streak.
