BARCELONA, Spain, April 27 (UPI) -- Kimi Raikkonen captured Sunday's Formula One Spanish Grand Prix auto race in Barcelona, Spain, 3.228 seconds ahead of Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa.
It marked Ferrari's third straight victory.
Raikkonen won the circuit's first event this season, the Malaysian Grand Prix March 23, and Massa won the Bahrain Grand Prix two weeks later.
The victory, never in doubt, was Raikkonen's 17th in his F1 career.
He became the eighth straight driver to win the race from pole position.
"It was a good day," he said. "Everything worked well."
The race was marred by Heikki Kovalainen's crash on Lap 22. He was taken off the Circuit de Catalunya course in a stretcher, but gave a "thumbs-up" to the crowd. Later he was flown to a local hospital for precautionary checks, and his condition was described as stable.
"I'm happy Heikki seems to be OK after his accident," Raikkonen added.
Robert Kubica, Mark Webber, Jenson Button, Kazuki Nakajima and Jarno Trulli completed the points-scoring positions.
