MLB: LA Dodgers 11, Colorado 3

LOS ANGELES, April 27 (UPI) -- Matt Kemp's grand slam highlighted a 10-run first inning and Brad Penny pitched seven strong innings Saturday to lead the LA Dodgers past Colorado 11-3.

Kemp finished with five RBI -- all in the first inning. He drove in Juan Pierre with a sacrifice fly, and then hit his first major league grand slam with two out in the first.

Pierre and Russell Martin scored two runs apiece and Blake DeWitt had two RBI for the Dodgers, who won for the third time in their last four games.

Penny (4-2) went seven innings, allowing three runs on four hits, with two strikeouts and two walks.

Garrett Atkins had a two-run homer in the first to put Colorado up 2-0.

Rockies' starter Mark Redman (2-2) took a pounding in the bottom of the first, allowing 10 runs. He went six innings, giving up eight hits and five walks.

The Rockies have lost two straight and six of their last seven.
