MLB: Cincinnati 10, San Francisco 1

SAN FRANCISCO, April 27 (UPI) -- Brandon Phillips hit two solo home runs for the Cincinnati Reds, who erupted for six runs in the top of the first inning Sunday and routed San Francisco 10-1.

Cincinnati's Edison Volquez (4-0) struck out 10 batters, allowing a run and five hits in seven innings.

Phillips went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs. Paul Freel had two RBI and two runs scored and Jeff Keppinger, Paul Bako, Joey Votto and Volquez each knocked in a run for the Reds.

Loser Barry Zito (0-6) was battered for seven hits and eight runs in three innings. Zito's ERA this season is 7.53.
