Long followed the draft's top pick, Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long, who was signed by the Miami Dolphins Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4, 284-pound senior, the son of hall of fame defensive end Howie Long, was the ACC's player of the year in 2007.

He was the 11th Cavalier player to be named a consensus all-American and the first since guard Elton Brown and tight end Heath Miller were named in 2004.

Chris Long's 14 sacks led the nation and the ACC.

The native of Crozet, Va., was rated higher than fellow all-Americans, defensive tackles Glen Dorsey of LSU and Vernon Gholston of Ohio State.

The third and fourth picks were Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan (Atlanta) and Arkansas running back Darren McFadden (Oakland).

Federer, Nadal to meet for Monaco title

MONTE CARLO, Monaco, April 26 (UPI) -- Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal won their semifinal matches and will meet for the title at the $3.57 million Masters Series Monte Carlo.

Top-seeded and two-time Monte Carlo runner-up Federer won Saturday when Australian Open champ Novak Djokovic retired in the second set trailing 6-3, 3-2. Nadal defeated Russian Nikolay Davydenko 6-3, 6-2.

For only the second time in ATP history, the top four players in the world participated in the semifinals at a Masters Series event.

Federer, 26, claimed his first title since last year a week ago at the Estoril Open in Portugal. Federer, 12-time Grand Slam champion, beat Djokovic in a rematch of their 2007 U.S. Open final, which Federer won. The two also met in the Australian Open semifinal in January, with Djokovic taking that match.

Nadal won his 19th straight match in Monte Carlo and is 23-1 lifetime and a three-time champion in this event, including victories over Federer in the finals last year and in 2006.

"At least now I have a chance of winning tomorrow. It's just a matter of going out there and probably having to play close to today and see what happens."
