MLB: Arizona 5, San Diego 1

SAN DIEGO, April 26 (UPI) -- Mark Reynolds finished off a five-run third with a three-run homer Friday and the Arizona Diamondbacks went on to defeat San Diego 5-1.

The early outburst helped bring Randy Johnson his first victory of the year in his third start.

Johnson, whose action this season has been limited due to nagging back problems, gave up a run on three hits with seven strikeouts in six innings to even his record at 1-1.

He got plenty of support in the third, when the Diamondbacks got to Randy Wolf for five runs on five hits.

Wolf (2-1) gave up a leadoff single to Miguel Montero and Johnson sacrificed him to second. Chris Young doubled Montero home and Young scored on a single by Orlando Hudson.

Conor Jackson reached on an infield single and that brought up Reynolds, who pounded his seventh homer of the season.

Arizona, off to the best start in franchise history, has won eight of its last 10.
