NEW YORK, April 25 (UPI) -- Phoenix swingman Grant Hill was voted the NBA Sportsmanship Award, the league announced Friday.

Hill, who also won the honor in 2005, is the first person to win the Sportsmanship Award twice. The NBA has given the award, decided on a vote of the league's players, each season since 1996.

The annual award reflects the ideals of sportsmanship -- ethical behavior, fair play and integrity -- in amateur and professional basketball, the NBA said.

Each team nominated one player for the award and a panel of former NBA players selected one from each division. Players then voted over the overall winner.

Hill was listed first on 90 ballots, second on 100 others and third on 60 and totaled 2,628 points. Runner-up Shane Battier of Houston was first on 78 ballots, second on 80 and third on 59 and had 2,318 points.

The other division winners are: Detroit's Antonio McDyess, Portland's Brandon Roy; Toronto's Chris Bosh and Washington's Antawn Jamison.

The NBA will donate a total of $75,000 to various charities designated by the six players.
