Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

MILWAUKEE, April 24 (UPI) -- Pat Burrell's two-run double in the top of the eighth inning Thursday boosted Philadelphia past Milwaukee 3-1.
He stroked his game-winning hit with two outs and Greg Dobbs and Chase Utley on base.
Utley had a run and three hits, Jayson Werth had a run, two hits and one RBI, and Eric Bruntlett also had two hits for the Phillies, who have won four of their last five contests.
The winner was Tom Gordon (1-2) with Brad Lidge pitching a scoreless ninth to earn his fifth save.
Ryan Braun's single in the bottom of the third produced Milwaukee's lone run.
Braun and Bill Hall both had three hits for the Brewers, who had won five of their previous seven games.
The losing pitcher was reliever David Riske (0-1).
