ATLANTA, April 24 (UPI) -- Matt Diaz climaxed a five-run first inning with a two-run single Thursday, sending the Atlanta Braves on their way to a 7-4 win over Florida.
Jeff Francoeur had a two-run double in the first and a sacrifice fly in the eighth to help the Braves snap a two-game skid that followed a five-game winning streak.
Atlanta batted around in the first against rookie Burke Badenhop (0-2), who gave up six runs on eight hits in five innings.
The Braves' Chuck James (2-1), who was recalled from Class AAA Richmond last weekend, picked up the win, allowing four runs on five hits over five innings.
Manny Acosta earned his second save with a two-inning stint.
Badenhop retired the first man he faced in the opening inning, but consecutive singles by Yunel Escobar, Chipper Jones and Mark Teixeira accounted for a score. Brian McCann then walked to load the bases and Francoeur doubled home two runs.
That brought up Diaz, who delivered two more runs with a single to center. Badenhop retired the next two batters to prevent further damage.
Jones added a solo homer in the second.
