DETROIT, April 23 (UPI) -- Miguel Cabrera hit a three-run homer during an 11-run sixth inning Wednesday, sending Detroit to a 19-6 smashing of Texas.
Carlos Guillen, one of five players to bat twice in the big inning, doubled home two runs in his first appearance and then produced a sacrifice fly later in the frame.
The Tigers handed Texas its sixth straight loss amid rumors sweeping baseball that Rangers Manager Ron Washington's job is in jeopardy.
Texas jumped to a 5-0 lead going into the bottom of the second, but the Tigers warmed up by tying the game with a five-run burst. Guillen singled in two runs in that inning, giving him five RBI for the game.
Detroit starter Kenny Rogers did not last long enough to take advantage of the onslaught. He left after 3 1/3 innings and the win went to Clay Rapada (2-0), who did not allow a hit in 1 2/3 innings.
Texas reliever Frank Francisco (0-1) suffered the loss, although he allowed only two runs in 2 1/3 innings.
Jamey Wright and Wes Littleton teamed to give up the 11 runs in the sixth.
