MLB: Milwaukee 9, St. Louis 8 (12 innings)

MILWAUKEE, April 22 (UPI) -- Gabe Kapler slapped a run-scoring single in the 12th inning Tuesday, delivering the Milwaukee Brewers a 9-8 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Gabe Gross, who scored three times, had a one-out walk in the 12th and stole second before Kapler got his hit off Jason Isringhausen (1-1).

The Brewers blew a five-run lead in regulation before ending a two-game losing streak.

Rickie Weeks had a triple, three RBI and two runs scored, Ryan Braun had two RBI, and Prince Fielder reached base five times and had a sacrifice fly.

Brewers starter Manny Parra lasted five innings, giving up three runs on nine hits and two walks. Seth McClung (1-0) got the win by pitching a perfect 12th.

Aaron Miles had four hits for the Cardinals, who have lost three of their last four games. Skip Schumaker and Troy Glaus each had three hits.
