Spaniard takes Houston Clay Court title

HOUSTON, April 20 (UPI) -- Spaniard Marcel Granollers-Pujol claimed the U. S. Men's Clay Court championship in Houston Sunday, outlasting American James Blake in three sets.

Granollers-Pujol, playing in a title match for the first time in his ATP career, survived six double-faults to win 6-4, 1-6, 7-5. The match lasted two hours and 12 minutes.

Blake, a 10-time winner on tour, has never won a championship on clay.
