NHL: Detroit 3, Nashville 0

NASHVILLE, April 20 (UPI) -- Chris Osgood blocked 20 shots and three players scored for Detroit, which advanced in the NHL playoffs Sunday with a 3-0 win over Nashville.

The shutout was the 11th for Osgood in playoff games.

The Red Wings won the series four games to two, reaching the Western Conference semifinals for the second straight year.

Nicklas Lidstrom scored on a bouncing shot in the second period, Jiri Hudler put Detroit ahead 2-0 later in the second and Brian Rafalski ended the scoring with an empty-netter late in the third.

Dan Ellis had 40 stops for Nashville.
