ANAHEIM, Calif., April 20 (UPI) -- Richie Sexson slammed a two-run home run and the Seattle Mariners held on Sunday for a 4-2 decision over the Los Angeles Angels.

Seattle had a four-run lead until Gary Matthews Jr. belted a bases-loaded two-run single for the Angels in the ninth inning.

Mariners' starter Miguel Batista (2-2) pitched 7 2/3 innings for the win, scattering eight hits. Seattle used three relief pitchers in the ninth before ending the LA rally.
