Ferrer, Almagro to meet in Valencia final

VALENCIA, Spain, April 19 (UPI) -- Spaniards David Ferrer and Nicolas Almagro posted semifinal victories Saturday at the $585,000 Valencia Open and will meet in an all-Spanish final.

The top-seeded Ferrer, the 2005 Valencia runner-up, defeated countryman and third-seeded Tommy Robredo 2-6, 6-2, 6-3. Almagro, two-time defending champ, beat Russian Evgeny Korolev 6-1, 6-4.

Almagro won his 13th straight match at this event Friday by beating second-seeded Argentine Juan Monaco 6-3, 6-2.

Almagro beat Potito Starace in last year's finale to win his second straight championship here.
