NHL: San Jose 4, Calgary 3

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 18 (UPI) -- Jonathan Cheechoo scored two of San Jose's four unanswered goals Thursday and the Sharks held on to record a 4-3 playoff triumph over Calgary.

The Sharks own a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal series. Game 6 is set for Sunday in Calgary.

After falling behind early in the second period, the Sharks began to dominate. Joe Pavelski tied the game on the power play and Patrick Marleau put San Jose in front for good with 1:53 left in the second.

Cheechoo then scored twice in a span of less than four minutes early in the third period.

Calgary's Miikka Kiprusoff allowed the Sharks' four goals on 26 shots.

Calgary threw a scare into the Sharks when Daymond Langkow scored on the power play at 9:06 of the third and Davis Moss beat Evgeni Nabokov with a wrister just 77 seconds from the end of the game.
