NASHVILLE, April 17 (UPI) -- Shea Weber scored a goal and assisted on the game-winner by Greg de Vries Wednesday, fueling Nashville's 3-2 playoff win over Detroit.

The Predators evened the best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal series at 2-2.

Nashville drove Detroit goaltender Dominik Hasek from the game by scoring three times on 14 shots. Chris Osgood came on early in the second period and stopped all 13 shots he faced.

Dan Hamhuis and Weber scored 32 seconds apart in the game's first six minutes. Pavel Datsyuk brought the Red Wings within a goal at 6:24 of the second period, but de Vries needed just 11 seconds to boost the Predators' lead back to two.

Datsyuk scored again 3:23 into the third period, after which Dan Ellis was perfect in goal. Ellis finished with 39 saves.

The fifth game of the series will be played Friday in Detroit with the Red Wings unexpectedly facing a stern test after finishing the regular season with the best record in the NHL.
