NBA: Detroit 84, Cleveland 74

CLEVELAND, April 16 (UPI) -- Reserve Arron Afflalo's 15 points and eight rebounds Wednesday led Detroit's regular season-ending 84-74 victory at Cleveland.

Detroit led 70-66 with 5:12 remaining in the fourth period and never trailed from that point.

The Pistons trailed 39-32 at the half.

Both teams rested their starters ahead of the Eastern Conference playoffs this weekend.

Jason Maxiell scored 13 points with six rebounds, Rodney Stuckey 12 with five rebounds and Walter Herrmann had 11 points and five rebounds. Juan Dixon added 10 points and nine assists for the Pistons, who will be the second seed in the East and will play Philadelphia in the first round.

They enter the post-season with a four-game winning streak.

Cleveland, the East's fourth seed, was led by Wally Szczerbiak's 18 points.

Delonte West, the only other Cav in double digits, scored 11 points with seven assists. Joe Smith added nine points and nine rebounds for Cleveland, which will face the Washington Wizards in the first round.
