BOSTON, April 16 (UPI) -- A career-best 27 points from Leon Powe Wednesday sent Boston to a 105-94 victory over New Jersey.

Boston closed the regular season with 10 wins in its last 11 games and its 66-16 record -- tops in the NBA -- was the Celtics' best mark since they went 67-15 in 1985-86. Boston won their 16th and last NBA title that season.

Tony Allen scored 18 points off the bench in a tune-up for Boston's opening-round playoff series meeting with Atlanta.

New Jersey, which closed the season at 34-48, got 24 points from Richard Jefferson.

Boston scored the last 11 points of the third period to overcome a seven-point deficit and then put the game away with a 14-4 outburst during the fourth.
