NHL: Philadelphia 6, Washington 3

PHILADELPHIA, April 15 (UPI) -- Danny Briere had two goals and an assist Tuesday, helping Philadelphia beat Washington 6-3 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

Vinny Prospal had three assists and Mike Richards added a goal and an assist for the Flyers, who now lead the best-of-seven series 2-1. Martin Biron stopped 16 shots in the win.

Mike Green had a goal and an assist, and Eric Fehr and Brooks Laich each scored for the Capitals, who had won four straight games in Philadelphia going into Tuesday's contest. Cristobal Huet was charged with five goals on 32 shots in the loss.

Game 4 is set for Thursday in Philadelphia.
