Deron Williams finished with 17 points and nine assists and Mehmet Okur had 12 points and 13 boards for the Jazz, who are fourth in the Western Conference standings after their sixth win in seven games.

The Rockets saw their lead over Phoenix for the fifth seed slip to just a half game.

Luis Scola and Tracy McGrady scored 22 points each, and Scola grabbed 13 rebounds for Houston.

The game was close early, with Houston going up 22-21 after one period, but the Jazz clamped down on defense in the second and kept the Rockets without a field goal for a stretch of almost six minutes.

The Jazz took a 94-67 lead into the fourth period. The Rockets cut the lead to single digits late in the game, but went through another cold-shooting spell -- going without a basket for about four minutes.
