MLB: LA Angels 7, Texas 4

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 15 (UPI) -- Gary Matthews' three-run, sixth-inning double Tuesday led the Los Angeles Angels to a 7-4 victory over the Texas Rangers.

Casey Kotchman hit a two-run homer for the Angels, who won their third straight.

LA starting pitcher Dustin Moseley gave up four runs on seven hits in four-plus innings. Darren Oliver (1-0) worked 2 2/3 shutout innings of relief, allowing three hits. Francisco Rodriguez had two walks in the ninth but got his fifth save.

Michael Young was 3-for-5 with an RBI for the Rangers, who dropped their fifth straight.

Texas starter Kevin Millwood left after five innings with a bruised left shin. He gave up four runs on nine hits in five innings. Josh Rupe (0-1) allowed three runs in two innings of relief to take the loss.
