Ginepri loses to Sela in first round

HOUSTON, April 14 (UPI) -- Sixth-seeded Dudi Sela of Israel posted a straight-sets, first-round win over Robby Ginepri Monday at the $436,000 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships.

Sela won the first set in a tiebreak, and then cruised to defeat the American 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 in the players' first ever ATP matchup.

In the night session, eighth-seeded Oscar Hernandez of Spain rallied to top Juan Pablo Brzezicki of Argentina 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

In other action involving Americans, Donald Young defeated Spanish qualifier Fernando Vicente 6-3, 7-6 (7-5); Wayne Odesnik beat fellow American Amer Delic 6-3, 6-3; Hugo Armando beat Argentine Carlos Berlocq 6-3, 4-6, 7-5; and 15-year-old qualifier Ryan Harrison beat Uruguay's Pablo Cuevas 6-4, 6-3.
