BREMEN, Germany, April 13 (UPI) -- Spain ended up with a 4-1 win over Germany Sunday in their Davis Cup quarterfinal matches in Bremen, Germany.
The Spaniards, who had run up an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the best-of-five event during the weekend, split a couple of dead-rubber matches on the final day of play.

Fernando Verdasco of Spain defeated Michael Berrer 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 and Nicolas Kiefer salvaged a point for Germany by topping Feliciano Lopez 6-4, 7-6 (7-2).
The Spaniards will play the United States team in the semifinals in September. The U.S. team advanced by beating France.
