NBA: New Jersey 111, Milwaukee 98

MILWAUKEE, April 12 (UPI) -- Richard Jefferson scored 24 points Saturday and the New Jersey Nets pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Milwaukee 111-98.

The Nets, having been eliminated from playoff contention Friday, got 21 points from Vince Carter and 15 from Bostjan Nachbar.

Milwaukee, which was led by Desmond Mason's 18 points, has lost six straight.

New Jersey opened a 15-point advantage early in the final period, only to have Milwaukee close within seven midway through the quarter.

New Jersey then went on a 12-0 run to put the game away.

Milwaukee had as much as a 10-point lead in the first half, but eventually fell to the Nets for the fourth time in four meetings this season.
