FRISCO, Texas, April 12 (UPI) -- Arturo Alvarez scored in the game's first minute Saturday and Dario Sala recorded his first shutout of the season to give FC Dallas a 2-0 win over New York.

Alvarez produced a goal 51 seconds into the contest, the second-quickest goal at the start of a game in the history of the franchise.

Dallas (1

2) had claimed leads in each of its first two contests this year, but eventually had to settle for draws. This time, Sala protected the advantage and had to make only two saves to do it.

Cooper gave Dallas some insurance in the 66th minute.

New York fell to 1-1.
