AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 11 (UPI) -- Jason Maxiell produced a career-high 28 points Friday to send the Detroit Pistons coasting to a 102-74 whipping of Washington.

Detroit, which will be seeded second in the upcoming playoffs, halted a two-game skid.

Chauncey Billups added 13 points and Antonio McDyess had 10. Richard Hamilton, who had missed five games with a sore left hip, scored nine points in his return.

Washington was led by Antawn Jamison with 15.

The Wizards had won their previous three games.

Detroit put together a 22-6 run in the third quarter that left them with a 71-50 lead.

Washington made just 27 percent of its shots from the field.
