MLB: Atlanta 3, Washington 0

WASHINGTON, April 11 (UPI) -- Tim Hudson allowed three hits over eight innings Friday and the Atlanta Braves handed Washington its eighth straight loss 3-0.

Hudson (2-0) struck out five and walked two in Atlanta's first road win of the season. The Braves ended a three-game losing streak overall.

Yunel Escobar homered and scored twice and Matt Diaz drove in the Braves' other two runs.

Matt Chico (0-2) pitched well in defeat, allowing one run on five hits in eight innings.

Escobar hit a two-out, solo home run in the sixth and singled to open the Braves' two-run ninth. After Atlanta loaded the bases, Diaz delivered a two-run single.
