
TAMPA, Fla., April 10 (UPI) -- Edwin Jackson and Trever Miller combined to hurl a three-hit shutout Thursday when the Tampa Rays trounced the Seattle Mariners 7-0.
The winners, who broke a four-game losing streak, were clinging to a 2-0 lead when they broke the game open by scoring five times in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Mike DeFelice had two hits and three RBI and his two-run single capped the big seventh inning outburst.
B.J. Upton drove in two runs with a single in the seventh.
Justin Ruggiano and Eric Hinske drove in a run.
Jackson (2-0) yielded two hits in eight scoreless innings with four walks and six strikeouts while Miller gave up a single in the top of the ninth.
Adrian Beltre had two of Seattle's three hits.
Losing pitcher Miguel Batista (0-2) gave up four earned runs and eight hits in six innings.
