
CHICAGO, April 10 (UPI) -- Jason Kubel delivered a grand slam in the sixth inning Wednesday en route to six RBI, sparking Minnesota to a 12-5 blasting of the Chicago White Sox.
The Twins produced 13 hits, three of which came from Brendan Harris. Both Carlos Gomez and Mike Lamb drove in two runs.
The onslaught made a winner out of Scott Baker (2-0), who gave up three runs on five hits in five innings. Brian Bass worked the final four for the save.
John Danks (0-1) suffered the loss, coughing up seven runs on seven hits in 2 1/3. Nick Masset relieved Danks and gave up five runs in 3 2/3.
The White Sox, who had won their previous five games, got solo homers from Nick Swisher, Paul Konerko and Joe Crede.
Minnesota put its first five batters on base in the opening inning and scored twice.
